EXPLORE/PLAY/CRAFT:

Food Print Art- using cut in half apples, oranges, pear and dip in paint and press on the paper to make a print. make sure fruit is dry before dipping in paint- you may even want to brush paint on the cut inside of the fruit and then press on paper.

Use old grocery advertisements and cut out fruits/ foods with scissors and glue to paper to make a food collage.

Make a paper salad with clipart pieces of lettuce, tomato, carrots etc. or Tissue paper in those colors to represent the colors in a salad.

Get out simple board games involving foods in the name -- Hi Ho Cherry O, Candy Land, Yeti in the spaghetti, pie in the face, or create a food matching game with clip art.
