TALK:
Show examples of bugs (laminated on a stick or use feltboard bugs)- you can count them? Ask what they are? Let them know to look for these in the stories we are going to share today all about BUGS!
Please note this lesson includes books that have all different bugs in them. I am planning or have published separate blog posts on specific bugs- ladybugs, caterpillars and butterflies (posted), spiders, fireflies or lighting bugs etc.

The Buggy Wuggy
Tune: Hokey Pokey
(right arm bent)
You put your right wing in,
You put your right wing out,
You put your right wing in,
Then you shake it all about.
You do the Buggy Wuggy
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
(left arm bent)
You put your left wing in,
You put your left wing out,
You put your left wing in,
Then you shake it all about.
You do the Buggy Wuggy
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
(head)
You put your head in,
You put your head out,
You put your head in,
Then you shake it all about.
You do the Buggy Wuggy
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.
(two fingers on top of head)
You put your antennae in,
You put your antennae out,
You put your antennae in,
Then you shake them all about.
You do the Buggy Wuggy
And you turn yourself around.
That's what it's all about.

Fly Swatter Painting-- do in an open area and be prepared for a bit of a mess-- My suggestion outside on the grass where you can later rinse away the splattered paint.
